Content Around The Web:

On Youtube/Twitch:

  • Should You Blog, YouTube, and/or Podcast? These days, social media is king, and everything else is old school. If you’re not on TikTok (or whatever the next big thing is), why do you even bother? But there’s something to be said for creating original content and controlling your own platform. Here are my notes from the Imaginarium 2022 panel : Why We Need Podcasters, Bloggers, and YouTubers.

On the Podcast “Writing Tips and Writerly Musings”:

  • Booktube: The World of Online Book DiscussionThe booktuber world is right next door to the authortuber world — full of people talking about their to-read lists, the books they’re actually reading, and their own community. As opposed to us authortubers, talking about writing tips, writing progress, and apparently streaming virtual write-ins. Both are full of people passionate about books and wanting to talk about it on youtube.

On The Blog (In Case You Missed It):

  • Should You Blog, YouTube, and/or Podcast? These days, social media is king, and everything else is old school. If you’re not on TikTok (or whatever the next big thing is), why do you even bother? What I’ve Been Reading:

I finished my edits and sent my manuscript off to beta readers this week! Nothing else was read, but that sure was a lot of reading.

New Works By Previous Guests:

Robert E Waters has a new short out in the anthology. (affiliate link)

The Weird Wild West

The untamed frontier is a challenge, a test of character, a proving ground for the soul. It’s a place where pioneers rewrite their future, or end their days…for better or worse. In the spirit of Bret Maverick, Cat Ballou, Kwai Chang Caine, and James West, The Weird Wild West blends western grit with the magical and mysterious unknown that waits beyond the next horizon.

With thrilling stories by Jonathan Maberry, Gail Z. Martin and Larry N. Martin, John G. Hartness, RS Belcher, Diana Pharaoh Francis, Misty Massey, James R. Tuck, Robert E. Waters, David Sherman, Tonia Brown, Liz Colter, Scott Hungerford, Frances Rowat, Ken Schrader, Bryan C.P. Steele, Wendy N. Wagner, and a bonus story by New York Times bestselling-author Faith Hunter, you’ve hit the Mother Lode!

And by Katharine Wibell‘s latest in her fantasy series. (affiliate link)

The Guardian’s Speaker (Book 7)

When pushed to the breaking point, humans can become monsters…

Banished from their homeland, attacked by beings beyond the world of man, mourning the loss of companions and loved ones, the dwindling crew must now confront the wrath of nature. Summer never came. Spring and autumn are mere memories. Winter continues to ravish the nine realms, and an endless season of bitter cold has trapped them in a land far from Midgard.

Líf and those she loves are starving. Their quest to save humanity may yet cost them their lives. Where are the gods? Why have they not answered her prayers? As a blizzard screams around the travelers, burying them in a tomb of snow, a new threat arises. A gnawing doubt takes hold: Have they failed?

Picture(s) of the Week:

I finished Draft 2 of “A Dream of Stellarships”! It’s now off to a tiny selection of beta readers.

And? I play D&D monthly with some friends. Minus a pandemic hiatus, this game has been going on since my elder niece was born, as the first thing her mom did out of the house. Well, she’s now 11 and thinking of joining the school’s D&D club, so wanted some practice. She joined us as a literal library cat who wanted to find out who was stealing the library books. In honor of that, I didn’t have a cat reading t-shirt, but I did have an axolotl who reads a -lot(l)

AND! My local library hosts a summer reading program for adults. Sunday was officially the last day, so I hosted an “End of Summer Reading Pizza Party”, in honor of the BookIt program of my youth, which would earn me a free personal pan pizza for every 5 books I read. Doc and I kicked everyone out just in time for our weekly productivity stream. But there was still pizza left! I wanna see more #pizzaSelfie.
