What I’ve Been Reading:

Angie Fox’s latest Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries, book 12:

Dread and Buried (#12)

Dead men tell no tales. Until they meet ghost hunter Verity Long.

Verity Long is proud to say she gets along with just about anybody—dead or alive. But she’s put to the test when her well-meaning boyfriend and her sweet-as-pie sister con her into a remote island “double date” weekend with her sister’s new flame and Verity’s long-time nemesis, Alec Duranja.

Her plans to avoid the uptight police officer go up in smoke when the four of them team up for a weekend treasure hunt competition based on the island’s legendary pirate past. And it doesn’t take long for Verity and her team to discover more than game clues. Someone is using the game to dig up real pirate gold…and they’re willing to kill to keep it.

There’s no escaping the island or the game. And when the killer targets someone Verity loves, she realizes she’s the only one who can uncover the truth behind the legend. She must stay one step ahead of the dangers of the island and two steps ahead of Frankie’s new ghostly pirate buddies—all in a race against time to solve a centuries-old puzzle and take down a real live killer before he strikes again.

Christine Feehan’s latest GhostWalker Novel, book 19:

Ghostly Game (#19)

Gideon “Eagle” Carpenter is used to rolling with the punches life has thrown at him. It’s the only thing that’s kept him alive. He and his team of GhostWalkers have seen and experienced it all. He does his best to live with all the sins written on his soul. Then he hears the laughter of a woman with the ability to erase—even for a few precious moments—the darkness of his past.

Laurel “Rory” Chappel has always been a nomad. She’s accustomed to taking care of herself, despite the physical challenges she lives with. She thinks she’s too weak to find real love, but that doesn’t stop her interest in Gideon from turning into a full-on addiction. He’s all rough edges and danger contrasted with a tenderness that makes her feel safe. Still, after a life spent in motion, she’s not sure she knows how to stay in one place.

Gideon hopes he can persuade Rory to take a chance on him with every electric touch. But soon, life conspires against him, forcing the GhostWalker to risk everything to protect the woman he loves….

And two from Zoe Chant, Protection, Inc: Defenders, Book 4

Defender Chimera (#4)

When your worst enemy turns out to be your fated mate…

Carter doesn’t want a mate, thank you very much. He’s got no time for love–he’s too busy trying to hide the monstrous shift form he was cursed with. Not to mention trying to stop his annoyingly hot business rival Fenella Kim from doing a hostile takeover of his company. She’s the thorn in his side, the Lego under his bare foot, and absolutely, definitely, positively not his one true love.

Fen doesn’t need a man, thank you very much. It’s hard enough running her own business when she’s struggling with undiagnosed ADHD. Not to mention constantly being compared to her obnoxiously hot business rival, the arrogant and brilliant Carter Howe. The very thought of him makes her tingle all over. With rage. Definitely rage.

But it’s hard to stay angry when you’re kidnapped together, dumped in the wilderness, and pursued by deadly attackers. And it’s even harder to keep your terrible secret from the enemy you just might be falling for…

And Virtue Shifter’s Novella 7:

Somebunny to Love is a charming romantic comedy ready to egg-ceed your egg-xpectations about true love! One-click now to read this light shifter romance with a guaranteed hoppily ever after.

New Works By Previous Guests:

New from Isra Sravenheart

Raven’s Secret (#3)

Damien and Gwendolyn are forced into exile but their expulsion doesn’t bother them as they are carrying on together behind the scenes. Astrid fears he has failed Damien and so the raven accepts that it is time to begin a new journey.

So when Astrid finds himself face to face with the light-bringer he doesn’t know what to expect. However, Samuel Reynaldi appears to be kind, and compassionate and shows empathy for the raven’s plight. Astrid believes the light-bringer when he tells Astrid that the job forces him to conduct these transgressions and so when Samuel makes Astrid a tantalizing offer, he feels he must accept it.

With Astrid now Samuel’s right-winged man, he gets a glimpse into the other side of the debacle of Light Vs Dark that he has never seen before. Astrid begins to understand that the light beings aren’t all they seem and that the foes that are drawn to the dark aren’t being wholly truthful with themselves.

New from Aaron Hodges:

Darkstrider

Jaxon Daniyal was a hero once. A soldier and a killer too. The Darkstrider, they called him. But those days are behind him. Too many mistakes. Too many marks against his soul. Now all Jaxon wants is to fade into obscurity. Fate has other plans.

Plans that involve a young man in a cave with no memories. An Offworlder, a force of chaos and destruction. Their legend is burned into history—always accompanied by war and ruin. And so Jaxon Daniyal is faced with a choice. Become the Darkstrider once more and kill the Offworlder before he threatens the world. Or spare him and risk the annihilation of his own people.
