- motivational, talkative, and a bit nuts.
Readers, thanks for checking out another Author Spotlight Interview. Let’s give a good, hearty welcome to this week’s guest!

Alexis Ancique, author, wife, mother of two grown children, and Nana of four. Self-proclaimed world traveler and adventure seeker. Known to have fire under her feet, never staying in one place very long.
She enjoys spending her time writing, sailing, and jumping on planes, trains, or buses looking for her next destination. Although she lives in a cottage in the woods, she has a love of the city life and public transportation.
Alexis, thanks for agreeing to be here today. Most author spotlight interviews start off with the boring stuff, but I know what readers REALLY want to know.
If you could have any pet (real/fantasy/no-allergies/no worries about feeding it) what would it be?
Pets, I’ve had loads of them, mostly cats, I love cats, but I am just not responsible enough these days to care for an animal.
I prefer to be able to run free. I carry my passport just in case a chance arrives to jump on a plane, which has happened.
We were ignoring care requirements, but I understand! When the road calls, one must answer.
What do you write? And how did you get started?
Simply put, I love to tell stories.
Short answer: I was bored on a sailboat.
Long(er) answer: I read a horrible book and knew I had done better, so I went back to an old book I had written, on a typewriter and revamped it twenty years more mature.
Spite can be a great motivator!
What do you like to read?
Romance, murder mystery, fantasy, thriller, just about anything other than horror.
A great spectrum!
What do you drink when you write/edit?
Usually water, but depends on my mood.
Same!
Do you snack when you write/edit? What are your favorites?
Not usually.
Oh well, I know we’re not all snack-fueled.
Name one commonly accepted piece of writing advice that doesn’t work for you
Create an outline.
I am a fly-by-the-tap-of-my-keys type of gal.
You’re far from alone. I’m a light outline kinda gal, myself.
Name one commonly accepted piece of writing advice they can pry out of your cold, dead hands
*shrug*
Nothing comes to mind, I’m pretty random.
Well, as long as it keeps working for you, keep at it!
Shameless Self-Promotion time!
Finding Famous (#1-3)

What if you had one chance to find out where you came from?
Growing up, Famous loved her mother’s fantastic stories. When asked, her mother claimed they were stories from her journey to find Famous and one day her daughter would take the same journey. When her mother dies, Famous grieves, forgetting about the journal.
Years after her mother’s death, she finds the journal, but that was only the beginning. Famous finds herself faced with the unbelievable characters she had thought could only exist in fairy tales. As she ventures through a world of magic and danger — she not only finds out where she came from, but who she is.
From Money To Murder

After a successful interview, Vanessa lands herself a job as a Department Head in a successful toy-making company. On her first day, she discovers some irregularities and has suspicions about the so-called ‘accidental death’ of her predecessor.
She is whisked off to New York with the Boss and, following a catalogue of errors, their relationship develops far beyond that of boss/employee. Her boss is very reluctant to discuss his real reason for the visit to New York but when Vanessa reveals her findings from the first day, he relents and she realizes this trip is far more exciting than she ever could have imagined — and far more dangerous.
