Well, the mentee selection part of #PitchWars is over. Next week’s post starts my Hamilton Songs To Inspire Your Writing 2-part (so far) series.
Congratulations
to the lucky 130 or so who were selected, who won the 2nd chances, you’re representing the top 10% or so of the PitchWars class of ’16!
All eyes are on you.
You’ve got help and support. And two months to get your novel agent ready. This success is so very public. The agent round will be equally public.
We’ll cheer for your wins, commiserate with your setbacks.
For the rest of us?
We’ve found critique partners to exchange chapters with, we can judge for ourselves how ready we are, and we’ve got the opportunity to pitch those agents before they get distracted by your offerings.
Our wins will be less public, but so will our setbacks.
There are advantages to not being selected.
We don’t have the time frame, the pressure, the eyes waiting and watching.
Good luck to the best of us. And the rest of us.
P.S. If I subbed to you and you have time, I would LOVE to get some feedback about what made you pass on mine, so I know where to look. I’m willing to wait for it.
